Exploring new frontiers in novel pharmacotherapeutics

Our research aims to understand the neuroscience of psychedelics and cannabinoids

The Psychedelics and Cannabinoid Therapeutics (PaCT) lab is a human behavioral pharmacology lab based at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, exploring innovative approaches to treating stress-related mental health disorders.

Our work focuses on investigating the mechanisms and therapeutic potential of novel pharmacotherapeutics, including psychedelic- and cannabinoid-based interventions.

We combine a wide array of methods in healthy and clinical human populations, including neuroimaging, psychophysiology, behavior, and pharmacology.

We are hiring!

We are currently looking for Clinical Research Therapists that will assist in projects involving psychiatric clinical populations and/or drug interventions (cannabinoids, psychedelic compounds) with psychotherapy. This individual will mainly support a clinical trial exploring the effectiveness of psilocybin for the treatment of alcohol use disorder with the opportunity to support additional studies.

Psilocybin for Alcohol Use Disorder

We are now recruiting for our trial that aims to explore the efficacy of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of alcohol use disorder.

Endocannabinoids and Social Processing

We are currently recruiting for our trial that aims to explore how our natural cannabinoid system, the part of our brain that responds to cannabis, influences social behaviors. By measuring these natural chemicals produced in our bodies, we hope to understand how different levels of our body's cannabinoids may determine how we socialize.

Observational Trials on Psychedelic-Assisted Pyschotherapy in Canada

To gain a better understanding of how psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is being integrated into Canadian health-care practice, we are actively recruiting those who are receiving/will be receiving psychedelics as part of Canadas’ Special Access Program.
