Stress Retreat Feb. 26-28, 2024
On February 26th - February 28th 2024, the PaCT lab attended the inaugural scientific retreat for stress, pain and addiction hosted the University of Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute, along with the University of Washington’s Center of Neurobiology of Addiction, Pain, and Emotion (NAPE). The retreat took place at the Barrier Lake Station in the Rocky Mountains and many trainees presented research findings including one of our post-doctoral associates, Dr. Ryann Tansey. Dr. Tansey’s presentation, “Clinical and neural outcomes of elevated anandamide through FAAH inhibition in PTSD”, reviewed the findings from a recent clinical trial spearheaded by Dr. Leah Mayo at Linköping University in Sweden. This clinical trial is the result of the translational journey FAAH inhibitors have taken from bench to bedside. We look forward to publishing this work soon.
